Travel To Baton RougeBy AirThe Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) is located 10 minutes from downtown Baton Rouge, and is serviced through regional hubs in Dallas, Houston, Cincinnati, Atlanta, and Memphis. Additional non-stop flights are also available from New York (LGA), Newark, Washington DC, Orlando, St. Louis and Chicago. Five major airlines (Delta, American, Continental, Frontier and Northwest) provide convenient flights throughout the day. Cab service and rental cars are available at the airport. Downtown Baton Rouge is approximately 10 minutes by car from the airport. The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is approximately one hour driving time southeast of Baton Rouge, off of Interstate 10. The airport is served by over a dozen regional, national and international airlines. Rental cars are available, but cab service to Baton Rouge is prohibitively expensive and not recommended. By CarBaton Rouge is located along Interstate 10 on the east bank of the Mississippi River. The Shaw Center and Old State Capitol are on either side of North Boulevard at Lafayette Street, and the LASM Planetarium will be on River Road, just south of where North Boulevard runs into River Road. Directions:From points East, take I-59 southbound or I-10 westbound. In Slidell, LA, take I-12 westbound. It will remerge with I-10 in Baton Rouge. Follow towards downtown. From points West, take I-49 southbound or I-10 eastbound. In Lafayette, LA, head eastbound on I-10 across the Atchafalaya Swamp. Cross the Mississippi River Bridge, towards downtown. From points North, take I-55 southbound. In Hammond, LA (I-55), take I-12 westbound. Follow toward downtown Baton Rouge, merging with I-10. From all points, take I-110 N, and exit Convention Street (left side exit). ParkingParking for the festival is available at throughout downtown Baton Rouge. The most convenient parking structures are the Third Street parking garage (Convention St. and 3rd), and the Baton Rouge River Center parking garages, on Saint Louis St, just north of Government St. As well, additional parking spaces are available within walking distance of the festival. These include metered spots along River Road, Convention and North Blvd., as well as the All-Right Parking lots on the corner of Florida and Lafayette as well as Florida and Third. |
