Each year, the Red Stick International Animation Festival accepts entries for its “Best of the Fest” competition. The festival accepts work from students, amateurs and professionals. There is no entry fee, and participants can submit work in more than one festival category.
Red Stick received a record 437 films from 36 countries for this year's competition. The Red Stick film jury is currently reviewing entries to determine the top work in each category, and to make recommendations on which films are screened during the festival, Nov. 10-13, 2010. Anyone who wishes to be part of the public film jury can sign up using the online form at the Review Entries link. Judging will remain open until September 15.
Anyone who submitted an entry to Best of the Fest 2010 will receive an e-mail notification by Oct. 1, 2010, on whether that film was selected for the Red Stick film screenings and/or competition.
As in previous years, the festival will announce winners on-site during the festival. The top entry in each category will receive a Red Baton award and this year, Red Stick introduces a Gold Baton award for the overall best festival entry.
