Fall Retrospective Announced — November 10
The Red Stick International Animation Festival will present a Fall Retrospective, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the Shaw Center for the Arts. The following events will be featured:
1:30 PM – CCT Expo / EA Gamefest
Come see the latest research in Scientific Visualization, Mobile Apps, Music Interaction and Computation from LSU’s Center for Computation & Technology. Play the Kinect Synthesizer, or navigate through a virtual scene, find out about the AVATAR Initiative in Digital Media. See the future of computing today!
Play the latest video games from EA, sponsored by EA’s North American Test Center.
3:30 PM – Festival TALK!
Industry leaders from local companies in video game development, visual effects and animation will talk about what you need to get into the digital media industry in Louisiana. These talks are geared for students and pre-professionals, but are open to anyone.
7:30 PM – Festival Retrospective and the Louisiana Animation Hall of Fame
A retrospective screening of the very best films from the past 6 years of the Red Stick Festival. Also, the festival will announce its first inductee in the Louisiana Animation Hall of Excellence. The LAAHE was established to honor excellence in animation, visual effects and digital media by Louisiana citizens. Tickets will be on sale for the retrospective beginning October 24.
